and just minor signs of wear

with some light printed stain on front (maybe from another postcard) and writing in pencil on the back

but have not been able to decipher the signature or the mark that appears near to base on the side of one of them

C. 1830s Ink Silhouette of Woman in Original Frame mod but I'm not sure) toThe frame (with pretty little acorn at top holding a hanging ring) tells me that this inked silhouette dates to the 1830s or so, though probably once held glass, which is long gone. Thus, there is wear and aging to the painting and paper, including some loss to what appears to have been gold painted details on her hair and bodice. I kind of like the effect, lending it some extra aura, but with her quite prominent nose still very clearly pronounced!
